EL SUPER
First
produced as a play in 1977, it was made into a movie and released
in 1979. EL SUPER tells the story of Roberto a
Cuban Exile who finds himself still working as a Super of a NYC tenement
building nine years after having arrived to the US. Enduring another
bitterly cold winter, still living in the same basement apartment,
he laments his decision to leave Cuba and wonders if he could have
made a better life for his wife and daughter. The story very genuinely
and with a healthy dose of humor examines the kind of “disorientation” that
many foreigners who come to this country face. |
